Wynn Plaza Shopping Center to Open this Fall

Wynn Plaza Shopping Center

Here's some very good news for Las Vegas-area mystery shoppers! Wynn Las Vegas today revealed more details about its planned shopping center development, which the resort says will debut this year.

Referred to as Wynn Plaza, the shopping center will open in fall 2017 with 75,518 square feet of luxury retail space, according to a statement from the resort. County officials earlier this month approved the resort’s plans for a two-story retail building that will extend to Las Vegas Boulevard and will include the area inside the resort that once housed a Ferrari dealership.

Wynn Plaza’s design will take cues from Europe, particularly Paris’ Avenue Matignon, to create a “sense of elegance and sophistication,” the resort said today. The shopping center will feature numerous luxury retailers and various “interactive and experiential opportunities.” It will be accessible via two entrances off the Strip, valet service and interior entrances from the Wynn and Encore properties.

Wynn Resorts CEO Steve Wynn said last week on a conference call about his company’s latest earnings report that the shopping center would include a “beautiful glass roof, an atrium kind of structure” and that his company expected it to contribute “somewhere between $20 million and $25 million in extra income.”

He also suggested that the shopping center was an opportunity for his company to make the most of some unused, ideally-situated land.

“We had 300 or more feet on the Strip right on the sidewalk in unused real estate that was very, very valuable,” Wynn said on the conference call.

Wynn Plaza will bring the total retail space at Wynn and Encore to more than 173,500 square feet, according to the resort.
